I want to become a member. How do I do this?
- If you wish to become a member you can contact our VP of Membership Sebastian Sepulveda at [email protected]. You can also talk to Sebastian during weekly Toastmasters meetings or send him a message on our Slack channel.
When do you guys meet?
What does a typical Toastmasters meeting look like?
- The Toastmaster of the Day will kick off the meeting by discussing the meeting’s topic and then opening the floor for members and guests to introduce themselves. The Toastmaster will then call up the General Evaluator, who will in turn call up the members filling the rest of the evaluation roles. The evaluators will explain their roles, and will then turn the meeting over to the prepared speeches. After the prepared speeches, the Table Topics Master will run Table Topics, a session of short, impromptu speeches based on the topic of the meeting. Finally, the evaluators will give their observations and recommendations, and the Sergeant at Arms will adjourn the meeting.
- However, this schedule isn’t set in stone and we’re willing to shake up the meeting format from time to time!
What is Pathways?
- Pathways is part of the learning experience of Toastmasters. It helps set a framework for each of our members regarding their desired path in Toastmasters, ranging from presentation skills to leadership. It acts as a guide for things like prepared speeches. For more information on Pathways you can visit https://www.toastmasters.org/pathways-overview.
